About MED-TRIC
Collaborative Ecosystem
The Medical Technology Research and Innovation Centre (MED-TRIC) at IIT Bombay brings together clinicians, engineers, scientists, and industry experts. The Centre establishes a collaborative ecosystem where hospitals, medical schools, researchers, and technology developers work together to address real clinical needs.
Interdisciplinary Learning
MED-TRIC promotes an interdisciplinary environment, welcoming students from medicine, engineering, life sciences, and management. Through a Stanford Biodesign-driven approach, students participate in clinical hospital programs to identify unmet healthcare needs and develop innovative prototypes.
Strategic Direction
An advisory board comprising leading clinicians, industrialists, engineers, scientists, and healthcare policy experts guides the Centre’s strategic direction, ensuring that research, education, and technology development remain aligned with real-world healthcare challenges.
Broad Spectrum Research
The Centre’s research spans medical devices, diagnostics, therapeutics, biomaterials, prosthetics, brain interfaces, and digital health. By integrating education and clinical collaboration, MED-TRIC translates discoveries into impactful healthcare solutions.
Our Vision
To develop a unique interdisciplinary program that produces professionals skilled in clinical science, engineering, and quantitative research, capable of translating innovations into real-world medical technologies.
The program aims to bridge the gap between clinical insight and technological innovation, enabling clinicians and engineers to collaboratively design impactful healthcare solutions.
